i definitely shouldn't have done this. i setup this interview and spent $1200 on a plane ticket, using up the remaining vacation time i had for this interview. now, it's true that i attempted to make the most of my vacation time. however, the final results were bad in that i wasn't given a chance in the end. i actually blame the final interviewer and that i wasn't mentally prepared at the end of the week being jetlagged and tired from the end of a long three days.
but the thing that gets me is that these cold hearted bastards were like, "Well, you have to fly down to conduct the interview." Fuck that. Anytime, someone asks YOU to fly down, flat out reject that company. It ain't worth it. Companies should be responsible for the entire interview process and not be cheap when it comes to candidates. If they bother to move forward for an interview, it should be always be up to them to finish the process.
the thing is that i asked this company if i could do it over a web camera. i don't understand why a technology company can't use a simple goddamn web cam to do a remote interview is beyond me. now, the bitter irony of this is that they said i didn't qualify for the position. how can a stupid company that can't setup a simple web cam for an interview process say that i'm not qualified when i'm proposing a simple, cost effective solution?
i'm really mad this time. i think i'm going to take some much needed time off when i return to the US. no more bullshit interviews and chasing after shit jobs.

I'll add that one to my rule of not spending more than 4 hours on a skills test, preferably done on site.
