Lego Box Recycling Suggestion

Cleaning up is a real big pain in the rear.  Especially if you have a ton of Lego.  Worse if you didn't bother throwing away the boxes.  I really hope that Lego opens up a program for recycling their boxes and bags.  I think after you put together the set, you should be able to send in the set's box and plastic bags to be recycled by Lego.  That would be a great green thing for Lego to do.

Actually, it makes even more sense these days because the boxes no longer show any alternative models.  Before, Lego boxes had really neato alternative models that you could build up.  That made for some imaginative possibilities.  However, these days you're only shown what the sets can do.

Also, Lego often has marketed these boxes as storage units.  But I'm certain many people who collect Lego don't really use these boxes as storage (at least if they intend to build the models).  So these boxes end up taking up far too much precious space.  Only hardcore collectors would want to retain the boxes in mint condition (but their purposes are for ebay).

It's pretty surprising that all these years Lego has not done this type of program (nor other toy companies that I can recall).  Considering all the mutterings of green technologies and recycling getting stronger, this would be an easy program to implement.
