So after I wrote that Jerry Yang literally is a pussy (and after he praised himself as a "fighter"), he stepped down as Yahoo's CEO.  This move simply proves that he's a pussy (and I was right) and someone unable to handle a fight.  I suppose shortly Mr. Yang will sell a good number of his shares, pull his money into some other investment (whatever is left as investments in this world) and bury himself in his huge mansion while sucking his thumb (no insult to thumb suckers out there).

But let's face it.  To run a company like Yahoo, you need vision.  Yang probably was too content in winning one of the biggest lotteries ever.  After probably struggling his life of being a hammer smashed face looking geek, hitting the big one meant he could be someone important by showing off his pocketbook to impress the world.

However, as we all know, having a massive pocketbook is not impressive, except to the leeches who want to rob from you then take a wakizashi and drive it into your spine.  And for Mr. Yang, Yahoo is full of leeches (or maybe we can call them yeeches).

What is impressive are people who continue to fight day in and out to continue making a company grow in one way or another.  Growing doesn't necessarily mean expanding your borders, adding more staff, getting more office space, or spending more on bandwidth.  Growing means evolving.  Yahoo stopped evolving a while back and simply became a place where people copy from other major companies.  But if you're going to copy, you either do it better or you make sure the competition dies along the way.

I don't think Yang is a harsh enough person to handle that level of competition.  In an industry where everyone is gunning for you, you have to be mean spirited and willing to kill your own mom to survive.  Either that or you need the creativity and ability to adapt.

For someone like Yang who has everything he possibly could want, he just doesn't demonstrate that level of drive.  Him stepping down must be a terrible de-moralizer for the people within Yahoo because it demonstrates that internally they don't have their Steve Jobs or Bill Gates leading them.

Just remember Yahoo: as you're looking for that CEO, I'm ready to yell and fire people.  Just contact me whenever you're ready for someone with balls made of titanium.
