I just installed Google Chrome on my Ubuntu desktop.  There's a nice link that describes how to do this.  Although I'm going to continue using Firefox as my primary browser, I find that Google Chrome is great as a test browser.  Besides, I figure that if I can test on both Chrome and Firefox, I get Safari too.  It's too bad Chrome does not have any plugins at the moment because there's a few plugins I can't live without (AdBlockers, Delicious, Firebug to name a few).
