Great Article on the Financial Crisis

A lot of the article focuses on AIG, the bonuses, the CDOs, the CDS's, Goldman and the government/Feds' involvement in all of this.  Rounding it out, the article talks about how in the people are too ignorant in just going along with what's going on, rather than calling for a Witch Hunt or a massacre of the guilty parties.

The end part where he states how Wallstreet was able to stage a massive coup in the government for the end of power was disconcerting, but well executed.  He places the reasoning for the power grab on the simple notion of just monetary greed, the inextricable need for gambling, but utilizing the ignorant public to hedge all their risks.

One of my concerns is this whole notion of power.  It seems odd that these people just want to make more money.  Why not just go to Vegas and use their immense wealth to gamble for the rest of their days?  Are the blackjack and craps tables too paltry for these people who require higher thrills and risks?  And why is it that the money they've accumulated over the years enough?

Is there something more?

While I'm not a huge believer in conspiracy theories, having read quite a few in boredom, I have to wonder if there, indeed, is a correlation to groups like the Illuminati, etc.? What are the connections of Wallstreet, London (where one guy Joseph Cassano seemed to be based out of), Henry Paulson, the Morgan Mafia (who are from JP Morgan, who have ties to the infamous Rockerfeller family), etc. all have in common?

What is the end game?

I've talked about the recent end of the 9-5 days.  Companies pushing workers into overdrive mode with the excuse of the recession to instill fear into their employees for higher productivity gains.  Also, Marx had written about the division of labor, the factory workers that would be divided and too tired to realize their dilemma.  So imagine this.  Part of this drive is to eliminate the ability for average people to look deeper into this crisis and criticize what's going on.  The average person needs to make basic payments and cannot fathom to do anything about it.  Without employee rights guaranteed by the government, people are trapped in long work days while this new conspiracy taking over the American government takes place.

So that's the veil.  Without the distraction of a war to focus the public's animosities and aggressions, companies instead simply drain them of their aggressions and in a Machiavellian manner, impel them to slave harder, for fear of losing their jobs.

Of course, I still haven't answered the question of what the end game outside of raw power is.  But I'll get to that in a bit.

Call me biased because of the industry I work in, but I think it's interesting to see what industries are failing and which ones may succeed.  Having worked in the net for years I'm going to come off as really bias.  But I've been noticing that indeed the failure of the brick-and-mortars are coming to pass while the success of the internet is slowly taking place.  Certainly, we've seen the dot com implosion and numerous articles have overanalyzed this scenario.  But we are seeing the giants emerge and how they're slowly taking over the show (e.g. newspapers dying while things like Digg succeeds).

I was thinking about my own company and one of the "visions" of the company.  I can't reveal that vision at this point but it's well known that one of our key investors is Goldman Sachs.  Or look at companies like Google.  Infrastructure companies.

What is the end goal?

Again, let me slowly get to that point.

One pattern I'm seeing is the emergence of key infrastructure companies.  Meaning, the businesses involve in the generation of content, the mass storage of content, people losing anonymity while our privacy is thrown out the window and we slowly become enslaved to highly understanding mechanisms of our being.

Huh?

Think about Google.  All of our queries.  They know what we're about.  Facebook, they have all of our information stored there, they know our relationships to people, they have even better information on us than Google.  Digg or other social news feeds.  They can track what we're reading.  When we post something, it means we're deeply interested in something.  Newspapers never could track our habits like that.  The more we have online, the better someone can keep track of us.

Of course, this has been known all along.  Older generations refuse to get on the internet because they realize this.  But what about young kids who are trusting, not exposed to cynical literature, but instead use the internet for their education?

The old generations have no value for these companies.  Think about what life insurance really is.  A hedge that someone will die before they can collect their money.  Recall how the Bush administration wanted to do away with traditional social security and put our money into higher risk 401k's.  Think about the obesity situation that's been going on for the past decade or so.  Why hasn't the FDA put more controls in the ways restaurants handle food?  Since tobacco has been slowly becoming banned by more conscious citizens, the government and insurance companies need new ways to prevent people from collecting on their money by accelerating their death rates through their own gluttony.

What is going on?

Why is it that Google is the darling on the stock market?  Is it true that they really earn as much as they do?  Doesn't it bother anyone that online ads make that much money?  How many people really do click on those ads?

Let's reiterate the various variables.  Long work hours, monitoring on the net, death of the brick-n-mortars, ignorant young people trusting data to the internet, Wallstreet supporing these internet companies, lack of criticism over the bailouts, fat cats getting more control in the government.

My theory is that there's a ruling group of people (it could be the illuminati) who want to exert more control over the citizens of the world.

I've reiteratad how mega corporations are nothing more than neo-monarchies.  People are now using the term oligarchy to describe the behind the scenes brotherhood that are formed while we're at home watching TV, acting as mindless consumers.  Notice the connection between London and America in all of this.  The US government no longer can nor will protect its citizens and just leaves us to the whims of unregulated capitalism.  Instead, we're forced to act like dogs awaitng our masters to feed us.

The people on top, it's just a buddy game.  The thing is that you're not a part of it, unless you're one of these buddies initiated long ago.

Again, why enslave us?  Why form this superstructure to invalidate the US government?  What's the point of forcing us to go into an unquestioning overdrive mode where we're so fearful that we blindly obey something that's insane?  I mean at the very basis these people who totally screwed up the system already made their money.   Is it the crack addiction analogy that the author of the Rolling Stones article made the true end that's causing all this?  Why can't these people just be content with their millions/billions that they've already stolen from us?

There's a part of me that believes that greed can end.  I mean, maybe I'm not that egotistical enough (yes, I know some of you will disagree) to have that need to be #1.  Then again I didn't go to Harvard, Yale, etc. and strove to be the best in my field for the sole purpose of bragging rights.  From what I've read about many of these people, they are the ones going to the Harvards, Yales, etc. with the absolute need to stomp on the small guy, piss on their face and tell them that they're shit compared to them.  But I can imagine that even that becomes boring, unless it's just like an in game among these fucks on a golf course trying to outdo each other for a perverse laugh.

If that's, indeed, the case, then these people are sad and should be injected with a fatal drug.  But if they aren't naturally like this, then you still have to wonder what the end goal is.

The only other explanation I could fathom (which sounds nuts) is some of these conspiracy theories that say that this Illuminati group isn't part of the world, that these people are descendents of a reptillian race, born to enslave the humans and that they're simply preparing us for domination by the date 12/12/2012 as a hidden planet, not detected by our space radar system (or covered up by the government) descends upon the Earth, unveiling the rest of the race, causing us to go into a massive intergalactic war.

Yeah, I did think that sounded a bit off, although in this world, you never can tell anymore.
