Since Geocities is officially "dead" something had to takes its place for awful web expression by n00bs who understand absolutely zero about web design concepts. My rant is directed towards pages that put a lot of crap that load my browser to the point where my system no longer can function. Yes, a friggin' web page that is almost like a virus in itself.
I just got a new system with 4gb of ram and this one page in particular took my Linux system to a load of 10! None of my other processes could even come that close! Of course, the issue partly is with Firefox as a memory hog, but I still blame the page owner for trashing up her website with the web 2.0 equivalent of marquee and blink tags.
A little suggestion to Myspace: Don't let your users put just any garbage in their pages. Instead, create a layout editor that limits what they can do and makes pages fast to load. Otherwise, Facebook will just continue to kick your butts to the curb.
On a separate note, hopefully this upcoming release of the new Firefox will address the horribly slow and memory consumptive entity that Firefox has become. Either that or Google should open up Chrome's API and allow a 1-to-1 conversion of Firefox's plugins. That would slaughter Firefox in an instant.
