Made a friend the other day as I mentioned and started doing more instances. It's definitely a different world out there. Not sure if I'm cut out just yet to be a tank. I think it's easier to be a DPS guy at first, sit in the back and just throw out buffs or damage when necessary. My friend leveled up a LOT faster than my warrior, so I ended up taking out my shaman, who is closer, instead. Did one of the Razorfen instances, but never completed it because the party bailed. I think people were growing weary.
My group for RFC was the best thus far. People were quite generous with my inexperience, but no one died so I think they were happy. After doing RFC three times and everyone surviving, I think that group was pretty fun. Great, well rounded party. I just went right in and tried to absorb as much damage as possible. Good thing my guy was a slightly higher level too so that I could take punishment.
The other group was a little quieter. Probably more experienced. The tank wasn't as good, I thought since the rest of us kept drawing aggro. Mostly, I buffed with my shaman's totems, did some ranged damage and helped the tank out on occasion.
My new friend though is a priest. I want to get him into my guild, but he has his own at the moment. But apparently, he has several other alts, all level 80. I think a few have no guilds. Either way, maybe I can grab him so we would have at least two level 80's being able to do instance runs for our lower level guys. If not, it'd be nice to have a permanent priest spot as my priest just sucks. At the moment, I only keep her around because she has jewelrycrafting as a skill. But if I can get a permanent priest for our guild, then there won't be much of a point taking her around.
Current mission is to help my friend level up his druid to 20. I have a druid as well but decided to put him on the sidelines. No sense having redundancy. I prefer well rounded parties. If we can match that priest's level (and get him to join), and once my other friend returns from Seattle, we can have a fairly well rounded team, minus one AoE guy (I can pull out my mage, but he's a bit high level at the moment). Besides, I want to work on my shaman until people hit near my hunter's level (which is 38 at the moment).
I would like to get one more permanent guy for our guild that is level 20 or so (especially if I'm able to recruit that priest). In this way, we would have a permanent group that can run instances as opposed to doing randoms. I just prefer having the idea of a stable group with some chemistry together.
