That's me. I'm a n00b. still am. i just realized that you can assign even more keys to your additional hotbars. oh man, that would've made my life so much simpler. i knew you could add a few extra hotbars, but i didn't realize that you could assign more keys to them. i re-tooled my shaman and warrior. hopefully, i can get some practice with my warrior later today. i want to see how to switch between battle and defensive stances during a fight and how to properly tank (outside of re-spec'ing for the 2nd time).
The shaman really needs the extra hotbars, I've noticed once he starts grabbing all his newer totems. He's got a lot of really cool buffs, heals and damage capabilities. However, managing them all can be a real pain. Since I'm slow at the whole shift-number action bar thing, having everything in front of me and simply assigning a hotkey is much easier compared to remembering where the hell I put a certain ability on a secondary action bar.
I need to re-tool my hunter and mage as well. The hunter isn't so bad because his melee secondary action bar is far more manageable as I rarely get into melee combat. But the mage absolutely requires a re-tooling with the additional hotbars. With all those spells at hand, you really need to maximize your action bars. I can't imagine how it's all going to look at higher levels.
My friend was telling me that there are similar abilities between classes. I haven't really figured that out yet between my characters and I probably won't for a while. I do see some similar abilities (e.g. healing, ranged damage, instant ranged damage, etc.), but you have to really scrutinize to see how they all interlink, and it's a task I don't really care to do at this moment.
I think once I master the action bar, my next goal is to figure out the whole macro system. I think that might take a little bit of reading. It looks powerful, but I don't want to get into it until I feel comfortable with these other basics.
