World of Warcraft: Dinged at Level 40 for Hunter and 30 for Shaman

That was a bit of a journey.  Highest level guy now is at 40 (Tauren Hunter).  Got his journeyman riding skill and the great white kodo.  Also, got him mail and the volley skills.  Mail was great and necessary since I had the Scarlet Leggings in my personal bank as well as several other pieces of mail armor I was storing for this special occasion.  At this junction, Nruklyn now possesses better armor than my warrior, which should be the case considering he's finally level 40.  Still, he's missing a better mail belt and gauntlets.  It would be nice to farm out Scarley Monestary to try and obtain either.

The volley ability was pretty critical for him since now he can do a proper AoE.  I think it does roughly 300 damage for 8 seconds across a group of targets.  But if one of my friends helps run me through Scarlet Monestary again and tanks a mob, I can help bring them down faster.

The only problem with my guy at the moment is that most of his gear is focused on strength.  I didn't do this by design, but just of what I currently have.  Naturally, I want to switch over to agility (I think intelligence will become a moot point once Cataclysm is released), but I'll have to hit some areas pretty hard for better drops geared towards his character.

The bigger question is what next?  He's half way there to level 80, which is great.  But the next steps are going to be rough because he'll have to do more instances or take on PvP contested areas solo (at least until my friend returns).  Well, that won't be for much longer.  I hope to help my friend's warlock get up to level 40 as well.  Until then I think I'll have my hunter take a break and switch back over to my Shaman, who is at 30.  I'm working with my other friend's Druid, who is currently at level 23.  Hopefully, by the end of this weekend, my friend's Druid will be in the 25-28 zone.  If that's the case, maybe I'll continue with my Shaman a bit until the druid and warlock are near my hunter.

The Shaman at 30 is nice.  Finally, got the last of his totems.  Fortunately, that quests was just a quick drop off.  Then his four totems were consolidated, thus saving precious backpack space.  More importantly, he received a nice ability which allows him to place four totems simultaneously on the ground at once as well as the ability to send them back to the earth and recover mana.  Equally important is how he now can self resurrect.  So there's one guy who can guarantee against a party wipe.

Perhaps, while my friends are out, I'll just have my warrior or shaman go farming for copper.  Now that my hunter is at level 40, he can dual spec.  However, that feature cost a whopping 1000 gold.  So it'll take a good day or two to grab enough copper.  I suppose if my shaman was slightly higher level (say 35+), he could farm Thousand Needles as the area contains better ores like mithril, iron and tin. I believe my friend's Paladin currently specializes in armor for blacksmithing.  So my shaman will eventually take up ax making (which is his preferred weapon).  Either way, I'm gonna need a ton of material to move both skills up further in the ranks.

I still have my mage, warrior and priest waiting around.  At the moment, I might hold off on them.  My druid is in semi-retirement now that we have another (better) druid in the party.  So that just leaves the other three alts for me.  One friend still has his rogue and spare paladin.  If he decides to take either, I might have my priest partner with one.  I think the priest-paladin combo would be a good team.  Lots of healing there.  Warrior-Rogue is just damage oriented.  However, I think that I'm not much of a tank guy so I might just keep him on the sidelines.  Then there's the mage.  Fun guy but I think he works best with groups of three.  Without a tank taking aggro and a healer ensuring that we can survive, the mage is a bit frustrating to play.

Anyway, final score Hunter and Shaman for the long haul.
